Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
As you browse our site, you can add products to your shopping basket. This will add a "cookie" to your PC. This cookie only stores details of the items you have selected and contains no personal information. If you have set your site to deny all cookies then you will not be able to shop online. In these circumstances you can email us your order. You can reach the shopping basket by clicking on the "basket" button on the top of any page. If you change your mind, the shopping basket will allow you to remove or change the quantity of any product you have added. If you run out of time, your basket will be saved in fact, as long as you use the same computer, the contents of your basket will be saved until you either clear them or complete your purchase.
We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

Our prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT. The final price is shown in the shopping cart in pounds sterling (£).
Payment is required prior to goods being shipped.
When you place an order by credit or debit card we merely pre-authorise the transaction.
Only when we know that we are able to fulfil the order will we take the actual payment. This is because on occasions a supplier may not have the cloth or goods in stock. If this is the case we shall advise you of the situation so that you can decide whether to wait, substitute another item (for instance a similar cloth or tartan from another supplier) or cancel the order.
Generally speaking we shall take payment within ten days . We have to do this as changes introduced by the credit card companies only allow us to hold a pre-authorise transaction for a limited period.

The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it an offence to give (by any means whatsoever) misleading price information to consumers and we make every effort to ensure that the prices advertised on our website are accurate. However, these prices may be changed without notice.
The Right to Cancel an Order.
Under The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations you have a right to a cooling off period of seven days from the date of contract. However, the regulations state that certain contracts are excluded from the right to cancel such as a contract for the supply of goods made to the consumer's specifications (regulation 13). This applies to most goods that we sell. Where this is not the case we shall so advise you.
It should be clearly understood that this website, and any other advertising, is classified as an invitation to treat, rather than an offer which is capable of being accepted. A legally binding contract comes into enforce only when we email you to confirm that we can accept your order and expect to fulfil it within the agreed dates. It should further be understood that we shall always endeavour to meet any agreed delivery dates but that no guarantees can be made. Any such contract will be deemed to have been concluded in the Scotland and will be interpreted, construed and enforced in all respects in accordance with the laws of Scotland, and you irrevocably submit to the jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
Shipping And Handling
We apply a handling charge of £5.00 to all orders. If you spend £100 or more this is reversed on the final payment page.
Within the UK Shipping by Royal Mail is free for any items that can be despatched by First Class Post. You should be aware that the Royal Mail will not even begin to investigate a missing packet until 20 working days have elapsed! However, you may choose to have urgent orders sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery. We ask you to pay the postage under these circumstances.
For orders that cannot be sent by First Class Post, or that are outwith the UK, you are shown the available option(s) at the checkout.
We very much regret that experience has shown that we have to send goods of any value by courier or recorded delivery so that we obtain a signature on delivery. If you ask us to send items by ordinary post we will do so on the understanding that this is at your risk as we strongly advise against this.
Our principal business is the supply bespoke goods (that is to say that an item is made to your requirements) and they will normally be despatched within 6-8 weeks. If there is any change to this we will advise you before we ask you to commit to the purchase. Bespoke goods include most tailored garments and any special tartans.
We offer "off the shelf items" as a service to compliment our bespoke goods and these are generally despatched with those goods. Where these items are ordered on their own we AIM TO DESPATCH within 14 business days to arrive with you the following day. International orders are generally received in under 21 days.

For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero .

Customs and Duty
Please note that all shipments to destinations outside the EU ( and some destinations such as the Channel Islands) may be subject to import duties and and or taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches such a destination. Any charges for customs clearance must be borne by you as they are outwith our control.

Many of our products are bespoke and we can only consider a return for thse items if there is a defect in the product. As we carefully check our goods before shipment we trust this will not happen. However, in this unlikely event, please contact us within seven days of receipt for a return number. On receipt of the goods we shall examine them, and where appropriate we shall replace the goods or refund your credit card.
Under no circumstances should goods be returned without a return number. Most of our goods are high value items and responsibility for them remains with the customer until they are returned in original condition to us. The customer will be responsible for all return shipping and insurance costs. When we issue a return number we shall advise you of the return address and any necessary customs documentation.
