Our Military Fishtail trews Our Military Fishtail trews
These tartan trews emulate the military style trew and come with a fishtail back. They are half lined with no pockets. Made to measure from 100% Pure New Wool in a 13 or 16oz cloth they are high waisted and worn with braces, the back of which button to the fishtails.

The military trew should have no side seams on the outer leg or a waistband. These trews are designed for fit young men and don't work if you have a waist size greater than 38ins. As many of our customers have a waist size greater than 38 ins we offer the option of an outer seam which can therefore incorporate side pockets if you wish.

Our master kilt maker has years of experience in measuring and sizing people. He has this MEASUREMENT FORM advice to help you order your trews online.

As a rough guide use the inside leg measurement of a pair of trousers that fits well. The outside leg would generally be about 14 inches more than the inside leg giving a 'waistband' that is 4 inches higher than normal trousers.
