Our Trews Our Trews
Trews is simply the Gaelic for trousers (triús - Irish Gaelic, triubhas - Scots Gaelic). Some say this is a more ancient dress than the kilt. We can provide a range of tartan trousers from military style trews with the fishtail back, to simple trousers.

This McIan print shows Colquhoun of Luss out for a stroll on a blustery day. As you can see the trews in those days were skin tight, with a single seam at the back of the leg. Today they have evolved into two main styles shown below.

Our trews are normally made from Medium weight 13oz tartan.
