Overview Different manufacturers have different systems. One reason we can offer such a range of tartans is that we avoid holding stock. Therefore the likelihood is that your goods will have to be ordered from the manufacturer and they generally ship to us. We then ship on to the customer. If goods are urgent then please call us to discuss options. Since our move back to the Isle of Lismore we have found that deliveries to and from us are taking several days longer.
When shipping within the UK we use Royal Mail where possible.
When shipping abroad all goods have to come to us before being sent on by UPS or Royal Mail.
Please note that we and our suppliers operate on a best endeavour basis - but we have not found a shipper that is 100% reliable! |
| Royal Mail UK Small items we generally send by Royal Mail First Class Post by Recorded Delivery. However, an item is not even investigated if it is reported missing until 20 Working Days have elapsed.
Urgent and/or valuable small items can be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery. In our experience this is generally an excellent service with high achievement rates. In the recent bad weather over December 2009 and January 2010 this service suffered disruption.

| UPS Europe Transit Times are estimated in working days from date of despatch from us. Depending on the goods it can take from one to twelve weeks to reach us. Note than it can take 3 working days from your order being despatched by us to reach the nearest UPS Hub. Some destinations may be subject to an additional days transit depending on destination postcode.

| UPS Worldwide Express This is the most reliable (and expensive) service for destinations that we ship to other than Europe.
Transit Times are estimated in working days from date of despatch from us. Depending on the goods it can take from one to twelve weeks to reach us. Note than it can take 3 working days from your order being despatched by us to reach the nearest UPS Hub. Thereafter it can take 1-5 days

| Royal Mail International Signed For Royal Mail states "If you use International Signed For with Airmail delivery our target time is within three working days to Western Europe, four working days to Eastern Europe and five working days for the rest of the world.......We track all International Signed For items until they leave the UK and then the item is handed over to the destination country's postal service as a priority item. However, we can’t track your International Signed For item all the way to delivery in every instance or always be able to provide a confirmation of delivery. "
However, this needs to be taken with a ton of salt - as the times are only target times and an item is not even investigated if it is reported missing until 20-25 Working Days have elapsed.
In our experience the target times are only met in about 50% of cases and many customers wait 20 days. Having said that, so far, every item has arrived at the destination within 30 days.
