Tweed Kilt Jackets The Argyll Tweed Kilt Jacket is our most popular day jacket. It comes with replica horn buttons. This jacket normally has the gauntlet cuffs and Epaulets but can be made without epaulets and standard cuffs.
Argyll Barathea Kilt Jacket This doublet is the equivalent to the English Morning Coat. It is ideal for weddings (I wore one at my wedding) and would be correct wear for an investiture at Holyrood Palace.
Just as an English Morning Coat is very different to an Evening Tail Coat and should NOT be worn in the evening, the Argyll Jacket is formal DAY wear. Although some wear it in the evening, this is incorrect.
Sheriffmuir Kilt Doublet The Sheriffmuir Kilt Doublet is a delightful old-fashioned jacket with gauntlet cuffs and a high-buttoned waistcoat. It is normally worn with lace jabot & cuffs.
Regulation Kilt Doublet The Regulation Kilt Doublet is a very attractive doublet suitable for formal evening events. It is made from Velvet or Barathea Wool with satin lapels. It comes with braided epaulettes, as in the Prince Charlie Coatee. However, unlike the Prince Charlie it has braided "Tashes" (otherwise known as Inverness skirts/flaps) at the front and back which give it that extra touch of elegance.
The Regulation Doublet is so-called because at one time it was the Regulation Uniform Jacket of the Highland Regiments. It pre-dates the Prince Charlie and to many people's mind is infinitely nicer.
The Regulation Doublet is always worn with a 3 button waistcoat which can be made from the same cloth as the jacket or, if we are making your kilt, a tartan waistcoat cut on the bias.
Kenmore Kilt Doublet The Kenmore Kilt Doublet is suitable for formal evening events, both black tie and white tie. It is traditionally made from Velvet, but is now also made in Barathea Wool - or even tartan. The Kenmore Doublet is a "single breasted" jacket, worn buttoned up and without a waistcoat. It is always worn with a belt, lace jabot & cuffs. If we are making your kilt then we may be able to produce this jacket in your tartan cut on the bias.
Prince Charlie Coatee The Prince Charlie Coatee and waistcoat is made-to-measure along the lines of military mess kit in a choice of 100% Pure New Wool barathea. Chrome plated Celtic Buttons.
