Our Tartan Hose
Our Tartan Hose are hand knitted, each pair can take 12 hours to make! We start with a sample of the tartan and then select yarn to match. Marl yarns are then spun from the selected individual colours to produce the blended effect that is essential where different colours cross in a tartan.
If we are making a kilt for you then we use a swatch of the material. Alternatively you can post us a swatch and we will match that. This is obviously the surest way to obtain a good match of the colours. If this is not possible then click the link below for more options.

Half Hose - Diced or Tartan
As worn by pipers these half hose are also known as Hose Tops. They have no foot and simply go down to the boot top.
They are available diced in two colours or as full clan hose with a third stripe. Shown here diced in red and white.

Hose Tops - Military Diced
As supplied to the New Royal Regiment of Scotland these hose tops are available in Red and White or Red and Black. We use a 50/50 blend of merino wool/acrylic. All our military hose are made of 3 ends of 2/28 yarn to give a balanced weight of sock. The blend gives supreme comfort, strength of wear and the ability to wool wash in a machine at 40 degrees Centigrade.

These hose are made in a range of colours designed to go with a broad range of tartans. Shown circular spiralling out anticlockwise Modern Dress Lindsay, National Scott, Hunting Scott, Ancient Scott and Royal Scott.
This is a NEW Product and stock should be available from Mid October 2006.
