Our Appin DoubletsOur Appin Doublets
The Appin Kilt Doublet is a very distinctive doublet suitable for formal evening events.

It is made from 13oz tartan material cut on the bias with velvet collar and button flaps and a plain woollen waistcoat. It comes with plain silver-plated buttons and has no epaulettes or cuffs.

The Appin Kilt Doublet is so-called because this has been copied from an old jacket worn by a gentleman from Appin. It was much admired at the Oban Ball.

The Appin Kilt Doublet is normally worn with a 5 button waistcoat which is made from a plain wool cloth that compliments or picks out one of the colours of the jacket.

These jackets are all made to order.  
Experience has taught us that most people can get away with a standard stock size. If you are not a standard size then we can cut to your measurements - in which case you are strongly advised to get properly measured by a tailor. Most tailors will be happy to complete our MEASUREMENT FORM - for a small fee. You should then enter these measurements online when ordering.
